Three shooters represent Sri Lanka at 15th Asian Air Gun Championship

A team of three shooters will represent Sri Lanka at the 15th Asian Air Gun Championship, which will be held in Daegu, South Korea from November 9 to 19. Sri Lanka will be represented by three shooters and two officials at the event organised by the Korean Shooting Federation.

The three shooters are M.R. Atheeq Ur Rahman of Zahira College, L.L.B. Wijeratne of Dharmaraja College and Neja Dassanayake of Buddhist Ladies’ College. Rahman and Wijeratne will compete in the 10m Air Pistol Junior Men’s event while Dassanayake will compete in the 10m Air Rifle Women’s Youth category. Rahman is coached by Lt. Col. C.S. Ratnayake while Wijeratne is under the wings of Sagara Wimaladharma. Dassanayake is coached by Indunil Dassanayake, who accompanies the team as coach. Lt. Col. Janaka Ritigahapola has been appointed as the manager of the team.
