Lyceum Pandura win Under-17 International School Cricket Trophy 2022

Lyceum International School, Panadura emerged champions of the International Schools Under 17 Cricket Championship 2022, beating Lyceum International School, Nugegoda in the finals played last week at Dharmapala College grounds in Pannipitiya. This is the first occasion Lyceum Panadura annexed this title.
In the 25-over match, Lyceum Panadura batted first as skipper Dilal Amarasinghe scored a quick-fire knock of 54 off just 31 deliveries, laced with three sixes and eight fours. Partnering with Pesindu Silva, who made 47, the pair put on a partnership of 108 in 12 overs for the first wicket.
Firnaz Mohamed hit a brilliant knock of 57 with three sixes, as Lyceum Panadura posted 185 runs in 25 overs. Lyceum Nugegoda too fought well but fell short by six runs after they managed to score 179 runs chasing down 185. The winning team’s Firnaz Mohamed was adjudged the man of the match for his contribution with the bat and ball.
