Sampath Bank celebrates cricket and netball in style

Marketing are Sampath Bank cricket champs

Marketing emerged champions at the Inter Department six-a-side soft ball cricket tournament conducted by the Sampath Bank Sports Club when they defeated Kandy Metro by 13 runs in the final at the Moors ground last weekend.
After posting a match winning score of 63 for 3 in their quota of overs, Marketing restricted Kandy Metro to 50 for 4 wickets.
Sameen Kandanaarachchi of the Marketing team was adjudged the Player of the tournament as well as the final. Kandy Metro’s Danushka won the best batsman’s award while hit team mate Rasika Samarasinghe was adjudged the best bowler. Tharaka Ranawake was adjudged the best fielder.

Head Office Combined emerge netball champs

In the netball final, the Head Office combined team defeated City Branch and Commercial Credit. Saumie Dinesshika was crowned netball queen. Monica Fernando was adjudged the best centre court player while Sanjeewani Wanasinghe and Ruwanmalie Wickramasinghe won the awards for best shooter and best defensive player respectively.
