The Department of Labour which collected Rs. 62 million from errant employers during the period 2005 to 2006 through the courts had remitted that amount to the Treasury in 2010 as Revenue instead of crediting it to the individual EPF accounts of the respective employees.

It is highway robbery by the UPFA government. Your media has every right to find out as to the fate of the Rs. 62 million from the relevant authorities. Also please ask the Commissioner General of Labour whether there are such irregularities after 2010 similar to the Rs. 62 million robbery and publish the outcome in your esteemed paper. Some remedial action must be taken otherwise retiring employees will have to beg for a living in our Banana republic.
