Therapuththa NS win inaugural Twenty20 in Hambanthota

Therapuththa National School Ambalantota won the inaugural Hambantota District inter school T20 tournament held at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium in Sooriyawewa recently. The tournament was organized by Colonel Shantha Rathnayaka, Manager of the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium on the instructions of Hambantota District Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa who has done much to uplift school cricket in the district. It was unfortunate that rain was a spoiler to this years tournament.

Debarawewa National School, Vijayaba National School Hungama, Therapuththa National school Ambalanthota, Rajapaksa National school Weeraketiya and Zahira National School Hambanthota were invited for this years tournament.

MATCH ONE (15 overs per team)
Debarawewa NS defeated Vijayaba NS Hungama

MATCH TWO (10 overs per team)
Therapuththa NS Ambalanthota defeated Rajapaksa NS Weeraketiya

MATCH THREE (10 overs per team)
Debarawewa NS defeated Zahira NS Hambanthota

FINAL (15 overs per team)
Therapuththa National School 109 all out in 15 overs(U P Dinesh Madushan 36, H P Dasun Caldera 32,

J A Suresh Kodituwakku 15; S A Dulash 3/15, L P Dilantha 2/14)
