Madras’ men’s team who were the defending champions could not come up with an impressive performance and won just one race, the ‘B’ Fours race an that too very narrowly by a quarter of a boat. They came in a time of 3m 22 seconds while the CRC team finished in 3m 24 seconds.

The CRC Men’s team in the Boat Race consisted of Chamal Jayanetti, Zludney Fazal, Shelan de Livera and Sajin de Livera with Kemil Peter as Cox. With this win CRC got hold of the Colombo-Madras Challenge Trophy that was on offer from its inception 74 years ago.

With those impressive victories the men’s team collected 42 points while Madras got only 8 points.
The Madras women’s team however, did extremely well to win all their races impressively. Their women won the scull, double scull, pairs, and the fours to gather a harvest of 25 points to nothing by CRC.

The Madras women’s fours team consisted of Sankavi, Addithi Subaramaniam, Iha Diwan, Shruti Kamath and Anrudh Sanjeev -- Cox.
