Commerce Union Wesley College: Quiz Competition 2011

The Commerce Union of Wesley College proudly presents the Inter-School Quiz Competition for the 6th consecutive year which will be held on June 23 from 2.30pm onwards at the College main hall.
The Commerce Union of Wesley College is a strong body recognized by the stakeholders and students for its many beneficial and educational projects performed for more than 15 years. Apart from the Commerce Day and Quiz Competition which has always been the main events, the Commerce Union has conducted many academic seminars and lectures beneficial for Commerce students from many schools.

The Quiz Competition 2011 will give Commerce students from other schools an opportunity to display their talents and perform outside the classroom environment. This event would encourage students to present their ideas and develop their team spirits.

The competition will be conducted in all three languages (Sinhala, English and Tamil). It will consist of 2 rounds and the winning team as well as the runners up will be awarded with trophies. We are confident that this event would help upgrade the standard of the school unions and showcase the inherent capabilities of students.

The chief guest will be Mr.Aruna Alwis, the executive director of the Charted Accountant, Sri Lanka. The quiz competition held last year was a big success in which 30 leading schools in Colombo took part. The Principal Dr. Shanthi Mclleland and Vice President Mr. W.B Jayawardene have graciously guided the Commerce Union and given their fullest co-operation for the betterment of the students, the Commerce Union and the school at large.

Mr. Dilshan Perera has served the Commerce Union as the head of Commerce Events over 15 years. He has always been the backbone of the Wesley College Commerce Union. Along with the current President Rifdhi Azad, Secretary Kevin Fernando, Treasurer Ishan Alawathurage the executive committee of the Commerce Union with all its members are doing their best to make the event a success.
