A cricketer who is good at preparing certain type of grounds is said to have purchased a massive house in a plush Colombo District at a cost of nearly 350 Lakhs and is planning to move into the said residence very soon. We have no objections to this indvidual moving on to better premises but how this money was earned is the big question.
 Trouble in the junction
There seems to be trouble brewing in the field of running and jumping with the AGM of the said body around the corner. Two stalwarts are as usual in the running but a third is being targeted by the Big Man in the game and it looks as if the Big guy will have his own way because the push that he is getting from the top is very big. Come what may by the end of March we will know who will occupy these important spots.
Hotter the better
The talk now is about the big sporting event that is taking place. High priced tickets are said to be all ‘sold out’ but the talk is that they are being hoarded by certain individuals who are at the top of the game to be given to their favourites or to be sold at a higher price when the demand is bound to keeps soaring when the contest gets hotter.
 Deadline is nearing
Certain officials are going around saying that once this big sporting event is over they have nothing to do with the sport. It looks as if they are happy with the work that they have been doing and the money that they have earned and now want to rest on their laurels. How lucky can these sporting types be?
High rate tickets
There was a big hullabaloo over tickets for a big event and a big hue and cry was made when certain low priced tickets were sold out. However it was later learnt that much higher priced tickets were sold after this fracas. No low priced tickets but certainly there were tickets priced at a higher rate!
Wolf, wolf
The story of the wolf is quite well known. This time the man at the center of the field is in deep trouble. The man has been doing the wolf call. Now he finds himself in deep trouble because no one is rushing to his aid. The chances are that he will be booted out for sure this time. |
