Lankem Paints awarded ISO 9001:2008

Lankem Paints Ltd was recently awarded the ISO9001:2008 certification in recognition of its Quality Management Systems in all activities related to the manufacture of paints, varnishes and ancillary products, becoming first paint manufacturing company in Sri Lanka to receive all valid certifications to date.

In a statement, Lankem Director Ruwan T. Weerasinghe said, “We are undoubtedly delighted with this prestigious certification. It not only endorses the quality of our products and processes but also puts Lankem on a totally different and exclusive platform in Sri Lanka’s paint industry. Our stringent attention to the quality of our product as well as the deliverance of the brand promise is ample testimony to the unprecedented growth that we are experiencing this year”.

Lankem Paints Ltd has been a leading manufacturer and marketer of decorative paints since 1984, under the brand name of Robbialac. Its product range of Robbialac comprises Emulsions, Enamels, Weather-coat, Elastometric Paints, Acrylics, Primers, Wood Preservatives and ancillaries. Lankem Paints also manufactures adhesives for the woodwork/carpentry industry under the brand of Epi Fix.
Lankem Paints goes on record as being the first paint manufacturing company to receive the ISO 9001:2000 certification in 2002 in recognition of its Quality Management System at the Robbialac paint factory in Ekala.

It is also the first and only paint company, to date, to receive the Certificate for Cleaner Production and Environmental Awareness (CCPEA) of SMED Sri Lanka.
