‘Chocolat’ on colonial keys

Chocolat, a film about a young French woman who returns to Africa and is haunted by vivid memories of her childhood in the last days of the country’s independence, will be screened at the Alliance Francaise de Colombo at 3 pm on Tuesday, October 26 and at 6.30 pm on Wednesday, October 27.

Directed by Claire Denis ‘Chocolat’ is a semi-autobiographical film that functions as a political allegory examining gender, age and colonial relationships. The film with English subtitles is suitable for persons of 12 years and over.
