Binura and Gihan favoured for Junior Nationals

Sri Lanka Squash Federation (SLSF) President Oliver Guruge, named Thomian Gihan Suwaris and Royalist Binura Jayasuriya as the two favoured players to excel at the 21st Junior National Squash Championship, which is to be held at the Gymkhana club from September 18 to 25.

Pakistan coach Shahid Aziz receives a token of gratitude from SLSF President Oliver Guruge.

He said this after highlighting Suwaris and Jayasuriya’s performance at the recently concluded Asian Junior Individual Squash Championships, where they pushed two top ranked players from Pakistan to four sets.

Mr. Guruge further elaborated that the Asian Junior Championships had provided local young players with an invaluable experience, during which they competed against and watched some of Asia’s top prospects.

Pakistani coach Shahid Aziz, who had been helping with the development of the sport in the country, was also present at the media briefing, held a few days before he was due to depart to his homeland.
