Mirage at the ‘Blue’

‘Mirage’ started their stint after a lap of three years at the Margarita Blue of the Galadari Hotel from 5 May.
The band performs every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the Blue.

The new Mirage comprises Donald Pieris on drums and vocals, Benji Ranabahu on bass and vocals, Derek Wikremanayike on guitar and vocals, Melantha Perera on Keyboards and vocals and Gavin Senn on keyboards, sax and vocals.

Derek is the only member in the new look Mirage who was not a part of Mirage during their twenty two year stint in the music scene. Derek replaces Kamal Perera, who is now performing with the band led by Kevin Almeida.

Mirage lead by Donald Pieris, was formed in 1988. Mirage became a house hold name and became an instant hit during the late 80’s and in early 90’s.

The new ‘Mirage’ lineup will be almost a reunion of the original lineup of 1987. The Margarita Blue is open seven days a week from 11.00am to midnight on weekdays and from 11.00am to 2.00am on weekends and is open for lunch and dinner.
