Premier League Tier ‘A’ Ragama thunder hits Badureliya

Two fine bowling performances by right arm pacemen Saliya Saman and Kaushalya Weeraratne put Ragama CC in the box seat against Badureliya CC at the end of the second days play in their Premier League Tier ‘A’ inter-club cricket encounter played at Braybrooke Place.

Saliya ruined the Badureliya CC batting in the first inning with figures of 5 for 18 to send them reeling to a low score of 54 while Kaushalya did the same in the second innings returning figures of 5 for 16 to have the opponents struggling to survive an innings defeat with the score on 72 for 6.

Ragama CC (225/6 o’night) 285 in 97.2 overs (Duminda Perera 82, Sameera Soysa 50, Saliya Saman 27, Malinga Bandara 50 n.o.: T.M. Sampath 3 for 11, Niroshan Bandarathileke 3 for 46)

Navin, Nuwan and Dimuth prop SSC

Half tons by Navin Perera, Nuwan Zoysa and Dimuth Karunaratne helped SSC to make an imposing 378 on day two in their Premier League Tier ‘A’ inter-club cricket encounter against Colts played at the SSC ground.

Gihan Rupasinghe’s unbeaten knock of 154 was overshadowed by some terrific batting as Bloomfield made a bold reply of 345 for 4 in reply to Tamil Unions 299 on day two in the match played at P. Sara Stadium.

Kosala Kulasekera and Tharaka Kottehewa rescued NCC with a 144 runs partnership for the ninth wicket which saw them end their innings on 254 after bowling out CCC for 168 in the match played at the CCC ground.
