Keeping in line with the programme, the district has made all arrangements to screen cataract patients and to carry out 1000 cataract operations free of charge during the year. According to district governor its costs nearly Rs 15,000/= to 20,000/= if the operation is carried out in a government hospital including medicine and the Lens. The arrangements have also made to distribute spectacles and to screen diabetic patients.
To carry out the above services free of charge the required funds should be mobilized through fundraising projects. Therefore the district has planned to stage a unique musical extravaganza of the popular band 'Marians'.
