‘Malay Street ’ comes alive at Mount Lavinia

Come back down memory lane and visit re-created Malay Street at the Mount Lavinia Hotel. Taste home cooked Malay specialties at the Governor's Rooftop, which is now in progess till Saturday, October 18.
Last year, the Malay community proudly celebrated 75 years of existence in Sri Lanka with a revival of Malay Street - a street that was well-known for its traditional culinary delights in the years gone by.

This year too, Malay Street will be a hive of activity complete with traditional music. The event is a buffet dinner, where guests can savour all the delicacies that the Malays are known for.

The buffet will feature all the spicy delights like Pittu and Babath, meat dishes like Daging Chuka, Sate Daging, the seven vegetable Kolak curry, Satay, Nasi Goreng, Mee Goreng and pickles that are an essential item in Malay food. Sago Pudding , Watalappan, Agar Agar, Amabarella Dosi, Malay Dodol, Pineapple Dosi and Malay Sweet Pastry are some of the popular desserts.

The ambience will be typically Malay with street style stalls serenaded by traditional Malay music by a Malay Calypso Band. Visit the Mount Lavinia during the Malay promo from 7.00pm to11.00 pm for a typical Malay feast.
