Akram Muthalib scored a blistering captain’s knock of 162, but it still failed to help Trinity College register a win against Prince of Wales College in their Under-19 Inter-School cricket encounter which concluded in a draw at the Asgiriya Stadium in Kandy yesterday. The game was hampered by rain on the first day. Trinity declared after reaching 288 for 9 while the Cambrians were shot out for a low 158 in their first innings. Following on they played much better to bat on until close of play, making 100 for the loss of five wickets to force a draw.

Trinity skipper Muthalib’s magnificent knock of 162 included 17 boundaries and three huge sixes.
