Sri Lankan wins education award for Montessori school network

A Montessori network in the US run by Sri Lanka’s Ramesh G. Wettasinghe has been selected  as one of the top 100 education institutes which provide education according to US Standards.

Mr Wettasinghe won the Top 10 visionaries in education award  at M. G. M. Grand hotel at Las Vegas in the USA for operating the Oasis Montessori school network in the state of Utah. He is the first Sri Lankan who has won this international award.

The Montessori school network initiated by Mr. Wettasinghe has become the largest school network in Utah, and has been recognised by the state’s education department. It was also selected as a prominent school in 2021 by Connections Magazine.

Mr. Wettasinghe is an old boy of President’s College in Rajagiriya and Ananda College in Colombo and an alumnus of the University of Colombo.
