Important facts to know before gaining Foreign Medical Education

After releasing A / L results, many parents do not have an understanding of how to enter a foreign education when their child’s educational path is being misled by fraudulent agents who conduct heavy advertising campaigns to attract more students. After conducting few surveys about foreign education providers, I thought to inform all the Sri Lankans about a trustworthy institution which is located in No:181, High Level Road, Nugegoda. Q: Do you agree if I mention REC as an agency that sends students abroad?
Not at all. REC is a foreign education provider and we offer totally free introductory courses of Medicine and Languages for the students who register with us. Q: Is there any required result by the Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC)to study Medicine?
Yes. 2 credit passes and 1 simple pass (2C, 1S)
Q: When selecting a foreign university, does anyone should have some knowl edge or any criteria to be considered ?
Yes. That is for what we are for. We direct students for SLMC recognised universities and the universities are recognised after the process of deep supervision of the university.
Q: Can you please brief about the representing for eign medical universities?
Tver State Medical University (Russia), Grodno State Medical University (Belarus), 1st Moscow Medical University (Russia), 2nd Moscow Medical University (Russia), Peoples Friendship University (Russia), Georgian Medical Universities, Riga Stradins Medical University (Europe).
Q: When selecting a foreign university, do you select the university or let the parents decide the university?
Some students are very specific about the universities that they want to apply for, because some friends or relatives of those students are studying in those universities. We cannot change their decision but we explain the situation in each and every university.
Q: How do you explain that?
Well, All these representing universities are recognised by SLMC. Therefore, any university is possible to get applied. But students have to think about the affordability and should choose a university which is economically friendly as they cannot stop studies half way.
Q: How do you secure the students?We directly work with the universities. Any issue can be solved out through the Sri Lankan REC offices in each university that assist students 24 hours in all 365 days.
A - Thank you for directing that question. Due to the expansion of student services throughout Russia, Belarus, Latvia (EU), Georgia and Australia, we had to change the name into REC Campus to give a better experience to Sri Lankan students through 4 departments in the premises: Russia, Europe, Australia and Local Education.
A – Obviously not. Our representing universities conduct MBBS in English. But Russian language is needed when living in those countries. Due to that reason, language is taught as a subject.
A – Yes of course we do. After completion of the degree, we provide guidance for PLAB / USMLE / AMC which are the entrance exams in UK, USA and Australia.
Q: That means you support less for ERPM exam in Sri Lanka?
A – No way. We assist them more than the maximum level by guiding them for ERPM from 3rd year onwards while they are studying in the university. That is why REC is the best place to study Medicine abroad.

A – Yes. Educational opportunities in IT, Engineering, Management, Mechanical, Marine and Maritime are offered by Riga Technical University, Latvia which is in the European Union. Students can get part time jobs while studying there.
Q: Can those students apply for Europe who have done A/L in Sinhala medium?
A – Now the students can either go to the university directly or study the first semester in Sri Lanka and then go to the university for the 2nd semester. Sri Lanka based study program offered by Riga Official Information and Study Center in Sri Lanka gives the students the preparation to study in Europe.
