Education institutions closed until further notice
View(s):Due to the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic, all schools, pre-schools, pirivenas, universities and tuition classes will remain closed until further notice, Education Minister G.L. Peiris announced on Friday.
While the Government is extremely keen on allowing school students to continue their studies without interruption, the decision to keep all education institutions closed was taken while keeping in mind the need to ensure their safety, Prof. Peiris said.
He said schools will reopen once the pandemic is brought under control. He assured that students of schools and other education institutions will be informed at least three days prior to their schools and institutions being re-opened.
