The ‘Cut-off’ marks for University entrance will be made available by July 10, Acting Minister for Higher Education, Lucky Jayawardena told Parliament on Friday.

He was responding to a question raised by Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapaksa over the delay in releasing the ‘Cut-off’ marks.
Mr Jayawardena said they intended to issue the ‘Cut-off’ marks much earlier, but due to the April 21 incidents, some of the Universities have not been able to complete the Practical and Competence tests required to complete the marks.

He said, despite these delays, they will be able to release the marks comparatively ahead of the dates the marks were released last time, when they were released on July 26. He said that, thereafter, the Universities will decide as to when they could commence the respective courses. – MC
