Action against unauthorised collections in schools on documentary proof- MoE
View(s):The Ministry of Education (MoE) will call for documentary evidence to act against school authorities who collect money without authority for school projects .
MoE Secretary Nihal Ranasinghe told the Education Times that facilities will be provided on the MoE website to lodge their complaints with documents in support. He said the complainants should have some document, such as a receipt, as confirmation that money has been collected in an unauthorised manner.
He said action would be taken against the Principal or relevant authority, if such documentary evidence is produced. Mr Ranasinghe said that instructions have already been issued not to collect additional funds from parents. – DW
