The University Grants Commission (UGC) will this year increase the intake of students to national universities by 660 students.
This follows a total of 76,596 applications received from GCE Advance Level (A/L) qualified students in 2018. The UGC Secretary Dr. Priyantha Premakumara said the UGC is in the midst of the selection process.
Around 177,907 students who sat the GCE A/L last year, qualified to enter universities. – CC
