Bristol Institute officially launches partnership with UWE, Bristol at its opening ceremony

In a grand ceremonial event held at its state-of-the-art facility in Kolpity, Bristol Institute officially celebrated its long-awaited partnership with one of the UK’s top educational institutions, The University of the West of England, Bristol. Offering an internationally acclaimed qualification, Bristol Institute is the only institute in Sri Lanka to be affiliated with the University of the West of  England (UWE) Bristol, for Finance and Management degree programs. UWE, Bristol is ranked number 37 out of the 121 United Kingdom Universities in the Guardian League Table 2019. The Business and Management degrees are especially sought after as their quality has been ranked among the top 50 in the UK. Having achieved a Gold Standard in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) by the UK Government, students and professionals here in Sri Lanka can be assured of excellence in course delivery methods facilitated by a carefully selected lecture panel that includes Phd qualified academics.

Among the distinguished guests that graced the event was Chief Guest Louise Cowcher – Director of Education who has contributed immensely to the education industry in Sri Lanka, and Guest of Honour Rob Low – Newly appointed Country Exams Manager British Council Sri Lanka. To officiate the partnership between UWE, Bristol and Bristol Institute Tom Linley Manager UWE, Bristol Asia Pacific Regional Office was also present.

The ceremony was initiated by Mr Dilshad Jiffry, Chief Operating Officer at Bristol Institute who commented: “Our common ambition is that this platform will strengthen our presence in Sri Lanka and provide students with access to highly sought-after qualifications while maintaining UK education standards. We as a team here at Bristol Institute of Business Management, look forward to providing our students with a memorable experience and endless career opportunities.” Dr Nazeefa Fawzer, Head of Academic Affairs proceeded to highlight the programs offered by Bristol Institute which include: BA (Hons) Business and Management, BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance, MBA and MSc in Accounting and Finance.

The key topics discussed by the Chief Guest Louise Cowcher focused on the importance of adhering to and maintaining excellent standards in higher education. Guest speaker Tom Linley Manager UWE, Bristol Asia Pacific Regional Office, emphasised on the high quality of infrastructure provided here at Bristol Institute which commendably mirrored the standards of UWE, Bristol. They also collectively emphasized on the value of moulding the youth through structured undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs allowing students to reach their potential as well as contribute to Sri Lanka’s economic and social development.
