Amaya and Sandali win WP Colours
View(s):Amaya Sithumini Kalukottage and Sandali Shehara Warakapitiya won colours at the Western Province Schools Sports Colours Presentation 2018 held at the Royal College Auditorium in Colombo, for making their school Sirimavo Bandaranaike Girls’ School proud in gymnastics. Amaya and Sandali combined to claim five gold medals and two silver medals at the National School Games 2018 Gymnastics Tournament, while helping their school win the overall runners-up position.
This feat eventually led the school to be recognised as one of the top performers from the Western Province schools, while helping Amaya and Sandali earn colours at the regional event. The duo was trained by head coach W. Ranjana Tharanga with the help of Ishara Nipuni as assistant coach and Chamila Perera as teacher-in-charge.
