Sci-fi fantasy movie ‘Mortal Engines’ made based on Philip Reeve’s novel on the same title, is now being screened in theatres around Colombo.

Directed by Christian Rivers with screenplay by Fran Walsh, Philippa Boyens and Peter Jackson, the film is set in a post-apocalyptic world where entire cities have been mounted on wheels and motorised, and prey on one another.

A mysterious young woman, Hester Shaw, emerges as the only one who can stop a giant, predator city on wheels devouring everything in its path.

Feral, and fiercely driven by the memory of her mother, Hester joins forces with Tom Natsworthy, an outcast from London, along with Anna Fang, a dangerous outlaw with a bounty on her head.

The film stars Hera Hilmar, Robert Sheehan, Hugo Weaving, Jihae as Anna Fang Ronan Raftery, Leila George, Patrick Malahide and Stephen Lang.

‘Mortal Engines’ is now being screened at Scope Cinemas at Colombo City Center and Leberty Cinema
