Rs 700m to repair, equip school libraries
View(s):The Ministry of Education has allocated Rs 700 million to reconstruct and equip Libraries of schools affected by floods, landslides and other natural disasters. Many schools were damaged by natural disasters across the country in the past year, while flooding also damaged books and furniture.
The MoE said 18 such schools will receive grants for this work. Another 160 Libraries have been earmarked by the MoE to provide books and other facilities. Meanwhile, the MoE will conduct a census among all schools to ascertain their needs, and provide them in the near future.
