Shehan Perera, 19, from Kalutara who secured 3 ‘A’s at the Advanced Level exam, is, unfortunately, not alive to hear the good news.

Shehan Dasun’s devastated parents held a blood donation programme last week, in memory of their beloved son who died of sudden heart failure, a month after sitting for his A/L’s on Sept.25.

“My son was hoping to enter the Law Faculty and studied hard. His dream came true, but he is not alive to see his results,” his mother lamented. A student of Kalutara Vidyalaya and Royal College, Colombo, Shehan was a member of Royal College’s Cadet Corps at the 2016 Herman Loos Trophy, annd was also a member of the school Band.

His father, Krishantha Perera, a retired Army official, said his only son was determined to pursue Law as a profession. Both parents and his sister wept when they saw his results. “Now that he is no more with us, our only hope is to do as many meritorious deeds on his behalf,” he said. Over 300 people participated in the blood donation campaign held near the Kalutara Temple.
