Hijira Muslim Vidayalya caters to the Muslim children in the Teldeniya Education Zone, and is well away from the town. It celebrated 25 years of existence with an exhibition of paintings by the children, and also a fiesta.

Central Province Chief Minister Sarath Ekanayake who was Chief Guest on the occasion declared open the exhibition of paintings.
A higher education achiever of the school, M.Z. Aeysha Mariam, a second year undergraduate at the University of Rajarata was presented with a cash award by the Past Pupils’s Association of the school.

The Principal L.I.M. Iliyas organised the event. Among those present were the President of the Mosque M.M.M. Izak and Provincial Councillor Al Haj Muthalif.  - L.B. Senaratne
