Sri Sangamitta Girls National School Matale (formerly B.M.S) under the captaincy of Ishara Gunathilaka annexed the U/20 netball title as they beat Government Science College Matale by 27 points to 8 points in the final at the Matale education zone Inter school netball championship 2017 worked off at Aluvihare MV ground in Matale last week.

Anuradhi Hansima Rathnayake of Sri Sangamitta National School was named the best player in the U/20 age category.  St. Thomas Girls School Matale secured the third place.

Thirteen girls teams competed in the U/20 age category at this netball championship conducted by the sports unit of Matale zonal education office. Sri Sangamitta Girls School was placed third in both U/18 and U/16 competitions.
