The 2nd ‘Siyane Nil-Kola Satana’ between Bandaranayake Maha Vidyalaya (BMV), Veyangoda and Henegama Central College (HCC), Hanwella, will take place at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium on May 27, commencing at 9.30 am.

BMV scored a close win in their maiden clash, where fortunes swung to and fro till the last over was bowled. BMV Skipper Malindu Manabarana played a major role in this victory. The lads from Hanwella fought to the end, and went down fighting. They consoled themselves with Chamith Chamara and Skipper Iruka Chamal winning Best Batsman and Best Fielder awards respectively.

Malindu Manabarana leading BMV this year too, is sure to lead from the front in this edition, as he enjoyed a good season, scoring over 500 runs, including a century and 4 half-centuries. He will be assisted by Maleesha Kalansuriya who has contributed with both bat and ball, while scoring over 300 runs and capturing over 20 wickets. BMV enjoyed a fair season with 2 outright wins from 6 matches in the preliminary round, while playing in the last 8 of the Knockout.

Skipper Manabharana (Left-arm seam) and Tilina Nipun (Right-arm Fast-medium) will open the attack for BMV, with the Right-arm medium pace of Nipuna Santhush in support. Two left-arm orthodox spinners Chathuska Kalunayake and Chamath Kalhara, along with 2 off-spinners Maleesha Kalansuriya and Vimukthi Wanniarachchi will form a formidable spin attack to cause problems to the opposing batsmen.

Kaveesha Pinimuthu leads HCC, and carries a big responsibility on his shoulders, as he led the side into the quarterfinals of the knockout stage in the Singer Schools Champions, where they, unfortunately, lost to Hanwella Rajasinghe College.

Pinimuthu will have the services of 4 centurions in Sisikelum Lochana, Damith Dharshana, Sasanka Dulaj and Damith Chamara. The bowling attack will be spearheaded by the left-arm seamer Shehan Dinusha and right-arm paceman Damith Chamara. Left-arm spinner Izad Lahiru and off-spinner Pramith Dharshana will be in charge of the Spin department.
