Devapathiraja romp to a five-wicket win at Kotte

Electing to bat first Devapathiraja posted a first innings score of 291 with Raveen Yasas topping the score card with 90. Raveen and Thisara Dilshan 54 off 62 balls with eight boundaries shared a 98 run partnership for the 6th wicket.
Left arm opening bowler Sampath Nissanka was rewarded with a seven wicket haul. Sampath captured four wickets bowling fast while the other three wickets fell to his leg spin.
Jeewaka Shasheen captured five wickets to restrict Sri Jayewardenepura MV to 185 runs forcing the follow on. Ishara Samindika scored 38 off 106 balls with four boundaries while left hand batsman Sathsara Parannamana smashed 37 off 22 balls with two boundaries and four sixes.
Following on the home team were compelled to declare their innings at 153/9. Skipper Lakshitha Perera scored 53 off 74 balls with seven hits to the ropes while Jeewaka Shasheen and Raveen Yasas captured three wickets each.
Devapathiraja needing 48 runs to win lost five wickets by the time they won the game. Nissam Badurdeen bowled extremely well to grab four wickets while Sampath Nissanka had to be satisfied with one.
