Two fine allround performances by Sithul Wijesekera (32 not out and 3/13) and Lehan Nawarathna (55 not out and 3/55) helped St. Thomas’ Matale to dominate the drawn U/13 division 2 inter school cricket encounter between St. Thomas’ Matale and Trinity College Kandy. Batting first Trinity College posted 163 for 9 in 65 overs with T. Fernando top scoring with 43. The spin duo left arm off spinner Sithul ended with 3/13 and Lehan, right arm off spinner finished with a haul of 3/55 to share 6 wickets between them.  In reply St. Thomas’ were given a flying start by the two openers Sithul with an unbeaten 32 and Lehan 55 not out, who together added 108 runs for no loss in 32 overs at close. Earlier St. Thomas’ Matale posted a first innings win over St. Sylvesters’ College Kandy played at prison ground Pallekelle in Kandy. St. Thomas’ scored 115/5 and St. Sylvesters’ all out for 53 runs.
