A glimpse of Chinese cinema
The first Chinese Film Festival comprising cinematic creations made over the last few decades is now being screened at National Film Corporation theatre Colombo. Starting on January 29, the festival will be held till February 3 with a screening each day at 6.30 pm.
‘American Dreams in China’, a film based on a true story directed by Chen Kexin will be screened on January 31. ‘Beijing Blues’, another story based on a true event undercovers police officer Lao Zha who leads a group of policemen catching all kinds of criminals in the crowded streets of Beijing.
It will be screened on February 1. ‘Love Deposit’ on February 2 is an unusual story of He Muyang who opens a café ‘Love Deposit’, a place where lovers can record their confessions to each other in a video and pay a deposit and save there.
‘Confucius’, the story of Confucius who is considered a great sage and teacher will be screened on February 3.
