Wet weather and gloomy conditions did not dampen the Police spirits as they drubbed CH&FC by 55 points to nil in the Dialog League first round rugby game at Police Park yesterday. Police gained their points through nine tries and five conversions.
Apparently CH is going through a team building process. On resumption they bothered the Police to a great extent with their tackling and loose play. The Police however took control in fading light to take their tally to 55 before the long blast.

Bilal Hasan and Reza Mubarak played an active role for the Policemen to swell the score. Police started scoring when Chula Susantha went over for an unconverted try. Bilal Hassan scored Police’s next try which was unconverted to take a 10-0 lead. Mohammed Sheriff touched down next and Reza Mubarak was on target with the conversion. Bilal Hasan scored again and Reza Mubarak converted to give Police a 24-nil at the breather.

Police continued their dominance except for a fiery CH&FC re-start after the breather. In the second session Police tries were scored by Bilal Hassan, Chula Susantha, Sugath and GihanSilva. Police are coached by Lalith Weeraratne of Lumbini fame and their trainer is Dushantha Lewke. CH is being coached by Wazil Halil a former S. Thomas’ Mt. Lavinia player.
