The Sri Lanka Association for Child Development (SLACD) is calling on all those who are dealing with autism, including parents with autistic children, to gather at Galle Face Green on April 2 from 4 to 6 p.m.
“Let’s fly high with autism by coming together on World Autism Day,” states the SLACD, adding that it is hoping to fly multi-coloured kites with blue-and-white tails to “show them they are not alone and also the heights they can scale”.
The SLACD is the first professional association in Sri Lanka dedicated to child development. It aims to promote, facilitate and support the advancement of knowledge and skills; research and interest in child development and developmental disorders in children.
The SLACD strives to apply these objectives for the welfare of children concerned, their families and the community through activities determined by the Council of the SLACD.
