‘YO YO’ conducts baseball clinic
View(s):Former Kansas City and Japanese national baseball pitcher, Ryotaro Hayakawa, fondly known as ‘Yo-Yo’ (pictured on left), visited Sri Lanka to 
conduct a two-day skills development programme. During the two-day programme Hayakawa met Sri Lanka team players and imparted his knowledge on baseball.
The former Japanese pitcher’s visit to Sri Lanka for the coaching clinic was helpful for the national baseball players who will be in action against the Asia Pacific University team next Sunday. Sri Lanka will take on the Japanese University team later on at the Japan-Sri Lanka Friendship Baseball ground in Homagama.
Hayakawa who visited the country on an invitation of the Sri Lanka Baseball Association mainly focused on the top ten pitchers of the island.
Commenting on the pitchers Hayakawa said that he is happy to see the variations and speed of the Sri Lankan pitchers but pointed out that efforts should be made to correct some of the actions in pitchers as well as the fielders. He went by adding that he is looking forward to come and help the national team for the next Asian Baseball Championship.
