The MCA Veterans and the Lanka Cavaliers were declared joint winners, in their 11th Annual Cricket encounter played for the ‘Tyronne de Silva’ Challenge Trophy at the MCA Grounds last weekend.

MCA Veterans put into bat, finished with a challenging total of 171 for 8 in 20 overs, riding on a splendid 85 runs stand for the fourth wicket, between Varuna Waragoda (45 not out) and Mahesh de Alwis (55 in 38 balls inclusive of two sixes and eight fours)
Lanka Cavaliers batsmen Daya Sirisena (30), Nalliah Devarajan (25), Nisal Fernando (27) and Asanga Perera (25) made a bold attempt to beat the rain and were 144 for 7 in 18.3 overs when the rains came down and deprived any further play.
