Trinity College allrounder Ravin Sayer who was awarded with the Cricket Lion recently was appointed the First XI captain of the school outfit in the forthcoming 2014/2015 season. Ravin also represented the Sri Lanka Under-17s tour of England and made some remarakable performances for his team.

He is one of the best in the trade and took 108 wickets at an excellent average of 15.50 per wicket for Trinity in the last Inter-School season. Sayer was nursed from the tender age of 12 years by Sampath Perera, the head coach of Trinity who came in to Trinity cricket in 2008 when the Trinity College Cricket Foundation was set up by their Old Boys headed by Sri Lanka Test cricketer Kumar Sangakkara.
Sayer also joins an elite club of cricketers who has made Trinity proud by taking more than 100 wickets a season. The others who took more than 100 wickets in a season are Sachitha Pathirana, Rushan Jaleel, Akila Jayasundera and Janishka Premasinghe.

He represented the national Under-17 team and was also in the Under-19 World Cup squad. He captained the Central Province Under-17 cricket team which became All-Island runners-up. He went on to hit 81 runs in the final. Sayer also can play till 2016 for Trinity.
