Centre forward Avinda Adikari was on song when he fired two successive goals in Sampath Bank’s 3-0 win over Seylan Bank in a MFA ‘C’ division soccer fixture at the CR and FC grounds recently. At the short whistle the winners held a 1- 0 lead.

In the 15th minute of play, Avinda Adikari opened Sampath Bank’s account and the tally at half time was 1-0 in their favour.

After the turn around, Adikari added the second in the 42nd minute and in the 55th minute left extreme Dinusha Nanayakkara booted the third to give Samapath Bank a 3-0 win.

The game was refereed by D.D. Sandanayke, while the co-ordinator was A.G. Mendis and Anton Atapattu was the match commissioner.

Commercial Bank in 1-0 win over NDB

In the dying moments of the game, right extreme Nalin Prassana booted the single goal of the game to give Commercial Bank a 1-0 win over NDB Bank in their MFA ‘C’ division soccer fixture at the CR and FC ground recently.

At half time neither side had been able to cross their opponents line.

After the change of ends it was only in the 59th minute that the deadlock was broken when Nanayakkara fired the solitary goal of the game to give Commercial Bank victory. The game was controlled by K.L.S. Chathuranga, while Piyal Perera wa co-ordinator and the match commissioner was Anton Atapattu. – BM
