SL Army’s 4th consecutive annual Defence Seminar this week

The fourth consecutive, annual Defence Seminar conducted since 2011, by the Sri Lanka Army, will commence this week, attended by a host of foreign participants.
Among those making presentations at the three-day seminar will be senior member of India’s ruling Bharathiya Janatha Party (BJP) Dr Subramanian Swamy who will speak on India-Lanka relations.

The theme of this year’s seminar will be ‘Sri Lanka: Challenges to a Rising Nation’. There will be around 350 delegates at the seminar including 133 foreign delegates from 43 countries. Among those who will address the seminar are Secretary, Ministry of Defence and Urban Development, Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Minister of External Affairs G.L. Peiris and Army Commander Lt. Gen. Daya Ratnayake.
