Sri Lanka Professional Conference, Exhibition and Events Organisers (SLAPCEO) together with Sri Lanka Convention Bureau (SLCB) have been successful in bringing the International Association of Professional Conference Organisers Certificate course to Sri anka.
This gives Sri Lankans an opportunity of obtaining a prestigious certificate without having to travel to Switzerland at a heavy cost, the SLCB said.

“The course is generally held in Switzerland but the organisers consented to have it in Sri Lanka this year in the second half of July after it was held in Dubai and Thailand where the costs are drastically reduced thus enabling many Sri Lankans to follow the course at 20 per cent of the total cost which would have been otherwise paid in Switzerland,” noted General Manager of Sri Lanka Convention Bureau Vipula Wanigasekera

IAPCO certification is one of the main standards set by many Convention Bureaus in the World as well as SLCB to be a registered Professional Conference /Exhibition organiser.

The IAPCO Seminar will provide a tremendous opportunity for industry members who are engaged in MICE tourism to have an overall knowledge on organisational elements of managing international business events and to obtain professional certificate recognised anywhere in the world.

The course is conducted by Mathias Posch of Canada, Sara Pugh of UK and Andre Vitor of Spin who are specialist trainers in Bidding, Organising and handling of Meetings and Conferences. IAPCO Switzerland is the sole authority in designing the course and offering the trainers to their standard.

IAPCO’s first training programme in Sri Lanka will be held from 21 to 24 July for MICE professionals in the South Asian region.
This would be attended by participants from Asia and Sri Lanka. The contact organisation is SLAPCEO President Zian Ameen at 0777 788 931.
