NCC was home for lunch when they outclassed Ragama CC by an innings and 49 runs with more than a day to spare in their Premier Super Eight cricket encounter at Braybrooke Place yesterday.

The writing on the wall was there for Ragama CC who was struggling for survival when play ended on the second day. Batting the second time with a deficit of 229 runs they finished the day two in a bad position of 63 for 4.

The third day’s proceedings yesterday saw Ragama CC resuming on their overnight score lasting only 30.1 overs as they were bowled out for 180 with right arm pacie Dushmantha Chameera and first inning wrecker Tharindu Kaushal who together shared seven wickets in doing the damage.

SLPA CC coasted to an easy ten wicket win over Army SC at the CCC ground yesterday. Army SC batting the second time resuming on their overnight score of 37 for 1 fared better as they managed to avoid an innings defeat making a score of 285. But the winning target for SLPA CC was only five runs which they needed just one over.

CCC too recorded an outright win when they defeated Tamil Union by six wickets at the Colts ground yesterday. CCC chasing 107 runs for victory had little difficulty in achieving the target which they did in the 20th over.

SSC was making steady progress against Moors SC when play stopped on day three in the match at the NCC grounds. Resuming on their overnight score of 142 for 2 they bolstered by useful knocks from skipper Tharanga Paranavithana and Thilina Kandamby and ended the day on 397 for 8 in reply to Moors SC’s 437.
