The 62nd Battle of the Golds big match between Sri Sumangala Panadura and Moratu MV at De Zoysa Stadium in Moratuwa ended in a tame draw yesterday.

Lahiru Vimukthi’s seventh wicket haul was in vain even though he gave his side an edge as the Sumangalians batted too long in the second innings before declaring their innings on 185 for 8.

Moratu MV came into the game on the second day on 76 for 1 in reply to the Sumangalins modest score of 202. They succumbed to Vimukthi who ended with figures of 7 for 23 and lost their remaining nine wickets for the addition of only 47 runs.
