Army’s 37 regimental flags blessed inside Sri Dalada Maligawa’s inner shrine room

In a solemn ceremony, the flags of the Sri Lanka Army’s 37 regiment were blessed in the inner shrine room facing the Golden Karanduwa where the Sacred Tooth Relic is reposed.

The flags carried with great respect and decorum, were brought into the Sri Dalada Maligawa in procession led by the Army Band, through the Maha Whalkada, and into the inner shrine room where they were blessed. Ven. Tibbotuwawe Medankara Thera conducted the rituals inside the inner shrine room.

Army Chief Lt. Gen Daya Ratnayake along with the Diyawadana Nilame Proadeep Nilanga Dela were also in attendance.

Earlier in the morning alms were offered to 64 monks at the Sri Dalada Maligawa. The Anusasanawa was delivered by the Asgiriya Chapter Mahanayake Ven. Udugama Buddharakitha Thera.
