Applications open for Commonwealth Postgraduate Scholarships
View(s):Applications have been invited from those eligible for the award of Postgraduate Scholarships offered under the Commonwealth Scholarship programme, the Ministry of Higher Education has announced.
These awards are tenable at Institutions of Higher Learning in the United Kingdom for the academic year commencing September 2013-October 2014.
A total of 18 scholarships will be awarded in all disciplines, but preference will be given to areas relevant to national development.
One-year Masters courses or equivalent Degrees, six months of enhancing clinical skills in Medicine or Dentistry, Doctoral Degrees of up to three years duration, one year research on a split- site basis, towards a PhD registered at a University in Sri Lanka, are the fields for which the scholarships will be issued. The scholarship does not fund for MBA Degrees
Those applying should be citizens of Sri Lanka, less than 40 years of age on 31.10.2013, possessing a First or a Second Class (Upper Division) Honours Degree from a recognised University, be employed in the public sector, University or State Corporation.
