‘Idamedi Wikine’, a stage play produced by E. M. D. Upali based on Russian writer Anton Chekov’s ‘The Cherry Orchard’ will go on the boards on August 18, 19 and 28 at Lumbini theatre, Colombo.  ‘Idamedi Wikine’ marks the 30 years of theatrical journey by E. M. D. Upali who had earlier made five plays.

Nilmini Sigera, Lakshman Mendis, W. Jayasiri, Prasad Sooriyarachchi, Wasantha Vittachchi, Gamini Wijesinghe, Jehan Srikantha Appuhamy, Sulochana Weerasinghe, Kalana Jayanath Gunasekara, Pavithra Dayananda and Ama Wijesekara play the main roles in the drama in which music is directed by Theja Buddhika Guruge. It is a production by ‘Sarasavi Mithuro’, formed by graduates of Colombo University.
