Popular Surf Club in Mount Lavinia has opened its doors to all the activities and a series of entertainment after many years of defunct status. The Surf Club in Mount Lavinia has a rich history and dates back to around 1965 when a group of life savers who used to frequent the beach around the area decided to form this as   an association. Since then it has seen its fair share of ups and downs even been affected by the tsunami.  But a few enthusiastic members got together and got the Club back on its feet.

A few corporate bodies also helped in this effort. The Surf Club is now once again looking forward to attracting the diplomatic community and other lovers of the sea and beach and night revelers. The most senior member of the club Gerry Jayatilalke, who still patronizes the Club said that a visit to the Surf Club would be a nostalgic journey down memory lane.  The Surf Club can be booked for private parties. It has a beach frontage of 200 feet. For more information please contact Harold Perera 2722120.
