Ruhunu University Gold medals for outstanding Agricultural Engineering graduates
View(s):Ruhuna University will award a Gold Medals to the most outstanding graduate in Agricultural Engineering of each State University.
The award will be in memory of the late Mr and Mrs D.A. Rajapaksa, parents of President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
A donation will be made with regards to the award by the D.A. Rajapaksa Commemorative Oration Committee (DARCOC) which is a subcommittee of the Rajapaksa Memorial Educational Cultural and Social Services Foundation incorporated by an Act of Parliament. The award of this Gold medal was first launched on March 30, 2013. DARCOC has obtained the consent of President Mahinda Rajapaksa and his siblings to make this presentation an annual event. The medal will be awarded to the graduates who top the batch with a first-class Degree in Agricultural Engineering Programme of each State University.The award will be in the form of a Gold Medal and accompanying benefits and facilities, as well as a scroll signed by the Vice-Chancellor stating the conditions which have been satisfied by the winner of the award, to be eligible to win the Gold Medal.
