The Holy Cross Walk 2013 and Musical Night with Marians together with Bathiya and Santhush, organized by the Old Boys’ Union of Holy Cross College in association with the school’s management, is set for a thrilling launch today in Kalutara.

The whole of Kalutara town is covered with Holy Cross College flags and banners from well-wishers from last Tuesday with interest for the event still being generated.

According to the project manager, Mahendra Perera, Vice President of the HCC OBU, the events are organized with the intention of strengthening existing bonds between Old Boys of Holy Cross College and raising funds for the school’s proposed swimming pool.
Organizers expect a large turnout for the event and estimate a number in excess of 15000. The theme for the Holy Cross Walk 2013 is “Let’s walk to swim” and it is intended to start at 3.00p.m. today in front of the college and move towards the Kalutara clock tower before returning to the college. Classic cars, horses, elephants, bands, men on stilts and many more sights and sounds will be added to this glamorous event.

Organizers also revealed that they made a comprehensive plan with the Kalutara Police and Urban Council to avoid any possible traffic congestion and give maximum facilities to the participants including, required parking facilities. Arrangements were also made to provide refreshments before and after the walk with the help of leading soft drink and milk product manufacturers.

The Musical Night with Marians will start at 7.30pm at HCC grounds and will continue until midnight. Bathiya, Santhush, Umara, Mariya and leading artistes will participate in this musical night.
