generation of creative talent in the country, regional and globally. The progarmme will be run at a selected number of schools that has the potential and foresight to share in this mission. The key objectives of the Design Club is to inspire, nurture and evoke creative talent at a young age and guide them towards contributing using design and the creative fields. Sri Lanka’s very first design club was launched at the Holy Family Convent, Bambalapitiya recently.

Linda Speldewinde the founder and managing director of AOD, who is a past pupil of HFC herself, was happy to note the interest and enthusiasm shown by HFC in forming its very own Design Club supported by AOD.“The design club member students will be encouraged to take leadership and responsibility in all creative activities in the school the Design Club will bring in a new creative energy to the school,” she added.

The student members will learn to embrace creative thinking into their way of doing things and as it’s an established fact today in both industry and the academia that creative talent, skill and thinking are some of the most sought after skills, this skill will be a valuable asset to them not only whilst at school, but beyond into their professional careers, whether they go on to be Corporate Managers, Doctors, Lawyers or Designers. In addition to the above, the students will develop skills in entrepreneurship, thinking out of the box, and gain exposure by having to work with AOD International Design Campus as student members will also have opportunity, on invitation, to be present at all international design workshops
